Overgoals tab

The Overgoals tab shows the primary cause an event's target was not met

This tab highlights the responses that did not meet the target total response time in the Performance tab. This tab contains a unique “Overgoal Root Cause” accordion that calculates the factor that most contributed to a response’s late arrival. General descriptions of the terms are here, but note that exact definitions may be differ between agencies:

  • Alarm: the time between the first timestamp (often when a call was answered) and when the first on-scene response was the biggest contributor to the late response
  • Turnout: the time between when a response was dispatched and when a response was the biggest contributor
  • Driving: the time it took to drive to the scene was the biggest contributor to the overgoal
  • Distance: the distance to the incident from the station was the biggest contributor to the overgoal
  • Busy: The biggest contributor to overgoal was that a unit was unable to respond right away because it was preoccupied
  • Assignment: The unit that arrived first on scene was not the optimal unit that could have been dispatched
  • Late Dispatch: Represents instances where alarm processing, turnout, and travel targets were met, but ultimately the unit that arrived first on scene did not meet the overall target, likely because that unit was not dispatched first.
