Data - Incidents & Responses
Incident and response data is the backbone of the Darkhorse Platform. It allow us to analyze performance, model operational changes, and project future demand. We’re flexible in where this data comes from — we can work with any export format your systems provide, and we typically look for a minimum of three years of response data.

Incident Data (RMS)
This is the authoritative record of the calls you respond to. It enables us to analyze demand patterns, call types, and the operational context for each response. Key data fields include:
- Incident ID(s) – Unique identifiers that link records across datasets
- Location details – Coordinates, addresses, or place names for mapping and trend analysis
- Incident types – Classifications from both CAD and RMS for standardized reporting
- Priority levels – Indicators of urgency to support target time analysis
- Cancelled or qualified calls – To ensure accurate performance metrics
- Timestamps – From call receipt through incident closure, used to measure each stage of response

Response Data (CAD)
CAD data captures the live operational sequence of a call — from dispatch to on-scene arrival. It is critical for diagnosing performance issues and validating deployment strategies. Key data fields include:
- Unit dispatch and arrival times – For calculating turnout and travel intervals
- Assigned apparatus and staffing – Linking resources to specific incidents
- Location and routing – Supports drive-time and coverage modeling
- Status changes during the call – Highlights operational flow and potential bottlenecks
